RULES
Welcome to Survivor Marquesas! This is an online game series celebrating Survivor's 20th anniversary. Contestants keep their identities secret and play Survivor as their favourite Castaways from the fourth season.
THE HOST: Hi, I'm Matt! I hosted Online Reality Games back in the year 2006. I stopped in 2010, but I'm back and ready to take on a new series. I am a fair and respectful Host and expect the same from players. I will have the final judgement call on rules/rule breaking. Contestants may be removed at any time, based on my discernment. Lets all play fair and have fun!
KEEP IT SECRET: Identities must remain secret. In the interest of fairness, contestants should not know the true identities of any other players. If any players are caught revealing their identities and/or contacting eachother outside of this forum (i.e. on video chats, facebook, etc.) they will most likely be removed from the game.
NOTE: You are allowed to connect with eachother and discuss parts of your real lives (i.e. families, friends, jobs, your everyday life, etc.) But please do not reveal anything that is only specific to you (i.e. things that would absolutely reveal your identity). PLEASE DO NOT REVEAL HOW YOU KNOW THE HOST OR YOUR CONNECTION TO THE HOST (even if you're just meeting the host for the first time).
PROFILES: This site (proboards) is our home base. Almost all information and challenges will be posted here. Contestants will be given the username and password for their proboards account when the game begins. Players must keep their profiles the way they have been set up. Please do not change the profile avatars or names.
CONTACTING OTHER PLAYERS:
There is a "Messages" feature on your proboards account. When you sign into your account, you can message others and receive messages in your proboards inbox (located in "Messages")
You will also receive the information to access a google account. You may use "Google Hangouts" as a quicker/easier way to communicate and chat with your tribemates. NOTE: Some challenges may use your google accounts as well. You will be given 24 hours notice (in Treemail) if you need to use your google account for a challenge.
PASSWORDS: You must keep your username and password for both your proboards and google accounts, as the host occasionally may need access to your profile.
SCREENSHOTS: You are not allowed to screenshot conversations with any other contestants. You are not allowed to share screenshots of conversations with anyone. Keep in mind, the host has access to your Google Accounts and can see if screenshots are taken and/or shared.
SCREENSHOTS: You are not allowed to screenshot conversations with any other contestants. You are not allowed to share screenshots of conversations with anyone. Keep in mind, the host has access to your Google Accounts and can see if screenshots are taken and/or shared.
SCHEDULE: The Game mimics the show and lasts 39 Days. It repeats a schedule every 3 days.
DAY 1: Treemail Day (check in to get important information about challenges, etc.)
DAY 2: Challenge Day
DAY 3: Tribal Council
TRIBES: Contestants have been split into the original MARAAMU & ROTU tribes. You may only converse with and contact members of your own tribe. You may not contact anyone on the other tribe.
CONFESSIONALS: If you wish to write confessionals (similar to the one-on-one interviews on the show), you can do so by sending them to the Host in "Messages". Title them as confessionals. It is helpful to flesh out your thought process in the game and it keeps open communication with the Host.
CHALLENGES: Most challenges are 24-hour challenges (they don't usually take that long). You have a 24-hour period to complete and submit challenges.
Some challenges may be LIVE challenges in which contestants are asked to be online at a certain time and the challenge is won by the person who completes it first. Some of these LIVE challenges will require you to access your Google account (read above).
I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada (EST Timezone). Any times for LIVE challenges will be based on my Toronto timezone. It is up to you to figure out the time difference, in order to make it on time for the LIVE challenge.
Try your best to make it for LIVE challenges. I will only reschedule the time of LIVE challenges under extreme circumstances.
TRIBAL COUNCIL: The tribe that loses the challenge will go to Tribal Council on the 3rd day. You have a 24-hour period to submit your vote. You must vote for someone in your tribe. However, if you fail to vote before the 24-hour time limit, you will automatically cast a penalty-vote against yourself.
TIE BREAKERS:
Challenges: Tie breakers in challenges will be outlined by the Host.
Tribal Council: In the event of a tie, there will be a re-vote. If the re-vote is tied, then the vote is deadlocked. In this case, the two tied castaways will become safe. The other castaways (bar the immune castaways) will "draw rocks". The person who draws the purple rock will automatically be out of the game.
Final 4 Tie Breaker: IF the final 4 cannot unanimously decide which of the two tied castaways will go home, the three non-immune castaways will draw rocks. The one who draws the purple rock will go home.
CONDUCT: As I said, I'm a fair and respectful Host and I expect the same from players. All players must treat eachother with respect. Any extreme offensive language, harassment or treatment of other players will result in a formal warning and continued behaviour will result in expulsion from the game. This game is meant to be fun, don't ruin it for yourself and others.
In the words of Kween Colleen Haskell: "Be nice. Play fair."
THANKS FOR READING! SEE YOU IN THE MARQUESAS!
