FINAL TRIBAL COUNCIL
Welcome to the Final Tribal Council. We'll bring in the Jury. Paschal, Kathy, Zoe, Sean, Gabriel, Patricia & Neleh voted out at the last Tribal Council.
John & Vecepia, you have gone as far as you can go in this game. The power now shifts over to the Jury. 7 people you had a hand in voting out, now hold your fate in their hands.
Here's how it is going to work. The Jury members are going to have a chance to speak to you. They can make a statement, ask a question or do both. They are gathering information to help inform their decision as they vote for the Winner of Survivor Marquesas.
Jurors: Post your statements and questions below. Over the next 24 hours, The Final 2 will answer them. You may ask them more than one question (Try to keep it to a limit of 3 TOTAL, not 3 each). You can also ask them specific questions that apply to them and not the other finalist. Make sure you specify who should answer which questions.
You are NOT permitted to privately message the Final 2 in the Hangout. All correspondence will take place here.
NOTE: There is no follow up questions. The Juror will ask their question or questions, the Final 2 will respond and that is it.
Final 2: Please do separate posts every time you answer a Juror's question. Also please specify which Juror you are responding to. Once every Juror has posted a question and they have all been answered, you will get a chance to make one final statement.
Jurors can submit your vote at any time. You are NOT permitted to change your vote once it has been cast so I recommend waiting until after the final statements have been posted. You will send your vote in the forum messages under the title "Jury Vote"
Votes are due by 5:30PM tomorrow (Fri. Mar. 26).
GOOD LUCK FINALISTS!

Well, I have a work-hard/play-hard attitude and I feel like I should be sittin’ up there in that seat. I feel I worked really hard out there, and I played hard with the people that wanted to play! But… I’m not gonna talk about lies and, deception because I was there too…mm.. we all were there. Basically, I believe you both have good hearts and you made it. To the spot that, all of us wanted to be at…
Congratulations there and that’s all I have to say.
As I'm sure you've gathered I firmly belive in a work hard/play hard attitude. I was hoping both of you could share how you've not only WORKED hard over the course of this game but also how you've PLAYED hard.
Thank you,
🦞

Kudos my finalists. This old man has two Qs for each of you. My vote is currently undecided, so CONVINCE ME! xo
Qs for LADY VECEPIA:
1. In the final vote before the merge, I convinced Robert etc. to keep you in the game over Boston Rob. I am curious whether you ever returned the favor and fought to keep me over others, eg. Kathy and Zoe? Even if you did, those efforts were unsuccessful, so why should I vote for you?
2. From an outsider's perspective, the fact that you and Patty couldn't align your votes at Final 4 looks like a major blunder. I might even suggest it was the Fuck Up Of The Season. What happened there? Why should We The Jury forgive this sloppy gameplay at the most critical moment of the game ?
Qs for LORD JOHNNY:
1. I hold you primarily responsible for the Robert blindside that lead to my, Kathy's and Zoe's eliminations. Why should I forgive and/or reward you for this move?
2. Generally, we did not speak very much in this game, even though I initiated conversation on several occasions. Why should I overlook that and vote for you?

Zoe,
I think it’s safe to say that I worked super hard both individually and in my tribe pre merge. I participated in every challenge, gave it my all, and was always working to keep myself and my alliance safe for every vote.
As for playing hard, my strategy here was a bit more under the radar. As challenges go, I think my best performances were in the tribal immunities. I stayed up until 2 or 3 am to help us get that first win, I came up with over 50 words in the fafaru challenge, and I singlehandedly created the winning photoshopped signal image in challenge 5. After the merge, my focus switched from playing the challenges to playing my opponents, and I successfully pulled off 2 major blindsides that changed the course of the game
I hope this answered your question, and I can’t wait to see you again, lobster woman 🦞

Congratulations to you both, I don’t have a lot to say for either of you because I’m still half asleep. That and I think I’ve gotten to experience both the worst and best parts of both of yours game play. So without further delay my question for both of you is this.
What real life skills did you utilize within the game and your individual strategy? It can be any kind of skill you learned from real life.

Congratulations to both of you for reaching this point! It’s been a fun ride, and we’re almost there, so I hope you understand that these questions are coming from a place of looking for the best person to win. I believe that to get to the end of this game you need a lot of luck, and am looking for clarity on where luck ended, and strategy took over. Looking forward to your responses!
John, I can’t help but feel that you’re primarily in the final 2 due to luck. First by forcing a tie at the final 6 when statistically the odds were against your side (Vecepia had immunity and therefore had nothing to lose by going to rocks), and then again by voting out Gabe at the final 5 which brought the numbers back to 2-2. While the final 4 vote worked out in your favour, it was not due to anything you or Neleh did, but rather a mistake from the other side, and I still don’t understand why you allowed yourself to be put in that position. Can you explain the thought process behind leaving so much of your game to chance in these moments? Are you sitting there due to your own merit, or because you just happened to get lucky?
Vecepia, I would like to know what did you do to ensure that Hunter and Rob would be voted out before you when you were down in the numbers at the tribe swap as the OG Maraamu’s. By the time the merge came, there didn’t seem to be much of a working relationship between you and the Rotu’s. Did you just hope that you would be spared by those in power, or did you have a strategy to survive for as long as you could?

Sir Paschal; 1. The Robert blindside was a tough decision to make, but ultimately, I don’t believe I would be sitting here today if I didn’t make it. When we merged, you, Robert, Kathy, and Zoe had been together since the beginning of the game. Although it would’ve been easy to stay rotu strong, I feared that once we had picked off the three original maraamu members, it would just be a matter of time before the four of you got rid of us, and I wasn’t willing to take that chance. Flipping on you guys meant that I not only had the numbers then, but I was guaranteed to have the numbers in the future. 2. I’m going to be real with you, pappy. I am a painfully awkward guy in real life. I have a tendency to overthink one on one conversations, which often ends up with me accidentally not responding for hours, and by the time I think of something to say, I feel like it’s too late so I just don’t respond at all. Part way through the game, I realized that this was coming across as indifference and standoffishness, and from there I had two options. I could either scramble to build a new reputation for myself, or I could own my status as the aloof villain of the season, and hope that that strategy pissed off enough people that I was an obvious pick to take to the end. I ended up choosing the latter. That being said, I am sorry that I didn’t take the time to get to know you better in the game, and I hope that in the end we can get to know each other properly

I have a question for each of you and hoping you’ll help make my final decision
John: how would you say you ended up in the final two? Seems like you made quite a few shady moves as we came closer to the finale. You said you helped in two blindsides did that pay off to end up having those people in the jury?
Vecepia: You’re clearly a strong player and one I always thought would come to the final two, congratulations! You have an eye for the win here and voted out Neleh, we can assume why but I’d like to still ask, why?

Congratulations on both of you making the finals! Very proud of you both.
John: Before we went to the merge, Sean and I felt that you were a big threat that we were going have to deal with. As the game continued, myself and my alliance started to realize that there were always bigger fish to fry. My question to you is... Should I have been more worried about you after the merge or was my hunch right that you weren’t that big of a threat?
Vecepia: You were dominant in the challenges. What I want to know is, what was the moment where you truly felt that you needed to win challenges to stay in the game?

I was hoping both of you could share how you've not only WORKED hard over the course of this game but also how you've PLAYED hard...
Hi Zoe!
As far as working hard and playing hard, I put everything that I had into this game. In the beginning it was very obvious on our tribe that we had many people that didn't show up or weren't really around for posting. That first night Sean and I took the reigns to try to make sure we had a shot in the challenge. During the Food Challenge competition, I came up with about 100 words for our list, and went over all the ones we had to make sure that they were in the dictionary. Once the tribe swap happened I made sure that I was available and active to participate in anything and to show I was very willing to be a part of the new tribe I was on. The only challenge I did not participate in was the S.o.S challenge, because we had to have people sit out. Post merge I had at least 3 nights of no sleep when I was trying to get the best scores for certain challenges or attempting to win the most important final challenge. Those challenge wins were pivotal to my advancement in the game because I was always at the risk of being voted out.
When not focusing on challenges, I tried to get to know everyone and have conversations with everyone. I felt when the tribe swap happened I was at a disadvantage because Hunter wasn't very present and Rob was sporadic so I didn't have a solid foundation, I had to try to prove my worthiness to the new tribe so that you guys would keep me around. Post merge it was new territory as well. I didn't know what the new dynamics were with the new Maaramu tribe so I joined back with my old tribemates and hoped that everything was still cool with us, and then got to know Neleh, Gabe, and John. I had to sell myself enough so that I was seen as an asset to the group but also not a threat.
I've lived and breathed this game for the past 39 days, often times neglecting people or things in my own personal life. I'm sure my family and friends will be happy to have me back, lol.
Looking forward to seeing you at the finale! 🦞

Hi Paschal!
1. When I was swapped over to Rotu you welcomed me with open arms and I felt very comfortable with you. When we merged it seemed as though something happened and we weren't speaking as much. Everyone felt the four of you were just not willing to budge or work with anyone else. After the Robert vote I kept hearing your name. At this point I was not super close with John, Neleh, and Gabe yet. I was mainly working with them by proxy with Sean and Patricia. I brought up many times that I would like to keep you over the others because I felt you were more willing to work with us. I even suggested that might be an option to get you to come over with us, but ultimately the numbers outweighed me as I was just one person and was not able to convince them. I tried to be as transparent with you as I could, because I did still really want to work with you. It just sadly did not work.
2. As for the Final 4 blunder I was just as shocked as everyone else was. As I watched the video I went straight to Patricia and asked what happened. For whatever reason there was a communication breakdown. We had originally talked about voting one person then it switched and somehow lines got crossed. I don't think that we had the opportunity to fully explain why were were voting the way we were to each other so it caused the confusion. It was a very unintentional mistake that neither of us wanted to happen. We had every intention of forcing the tie again. I wasn't willing to go against Pat especially at that point.
I look forward to seeing you after the game and hear some of your snark and wit. 😊

Hey Neleh! (Sorry for the no sleep, you truly are a rock star).
I think the real life skills I used in this game was just being true to myself. While I was absolutely playing as an alias, I was still as much me as I could be. I try to be a kind and nice person in my everyday life and generally I'm not good at scheming and being fake and lying. So I tried to be as open as I possibly could and as honest as you can be in a game like this. ... I'm also a pseudo type-A persistent never give up personality so that helped me in alot of challenges to make them as 'perfect' as I thought they could be.
Lmao, I think I got this all wrong and rambled, and don't know what life skills I possess. 😂
Can't wait to catch up with you once this is all over. 💙

Hey Sean! I've missed you!
I kind of briefly mentioned this earlier in another question. When we swapped Hunter was the same as he was on our tribe, barely around and when he'd pop up he'd make it seem like he was very present. Rob tried to be around as much as possible but was having work conflicts so I knew that so long as I was active and participating that hopefully these new tribemates would want to keep me around over the others that weren't helping us. Once the merge happened , I was honestly scared, I didn't know what was going to happen. I didn't know if all the Rotu's were going to join together, I didn't know if me going back together with you and Patricia was going to happen. I knew that first vote post merge was such an iffy thing for me that I absolutely had to win that first Immunity just so I could have time to get my bearings and get to know the new people and figure out who was with who and how people were willing or not willing to vote.
Looking forward to catching back up with you at the finale! 😊

Vecepia: You’re clearly a strong player and one I always thought would come to the final two, congratulations! You have an eye for the win here and voted out Neleh, we can assume why but I’d like to still ask, why?
Hi Kathy!
Thank you for the kind words, I appreciate it. 💙 Voting out Neleh was honestly the hardest thing I had to do. I went back and forth in what to do most of the night and morning. She became one of the people I was closest to in this game and we genuinely clicked beyond game, so that's what made it harder for me because I didn't want my game move to affect our friendship. I knew though that she was the biggest threat here. She probably had the best social game of any of us and she also had the challenge side on lock. I knew to give myself an even playing ground I needed to keep John.
I hope that your crazy work schedule calmed down some. 😊

Hey Pat! I've missed you!
I knew the very first challenge post merge I needed to win just because joining up with everyone was uncharted waters. I needed to get to know 3 new people. I was unsure about how you and Sean were going to accept me back. I was on iffy ground with the Rotu's. So I felt like I needed to win that first one. Once I was able to get to know the others and we formed that solid ground, then I felt more comfortable. I always tried to win, but choked in those live puzzle challenges, which I think actually worked in my favor. As the numbers dwindled more and more I knew that for me to make it to the end I needed to win immunity.
Can't wait to see ya at the finale! 😊
